Virtual Activism and Southern New Hampshire University are organizing an international human rights day on Dec 10, 2019.
The event will include virtual reality short films on topics as diverse as refugees, women’s rights, child rights, and climate change.
There will also be a refugee shelter installation. Originally designed for a thematic dance performance by Deo Mwano, the design is based on a typical refugee camp shelter. The imagery is conceived as a collage of photos of refugees in various camps around the world.
Artist and designer Harry Umen is professor of graphic design and media arts. Currently he is focusing on designing architectual installations that incorporate a variety of lighting solutions.
