Apparently Microsoft’s new ChatGPT AI is having a nervous breakdown. It started sending ‘unhinged’ messages to people, according to the Independent newspaper. Looking further into the matter, it seems that it hurled insults at people who were attempting to hack it or to get it to spit out its code secrets. For example, in conversations with users who had attempted to get around the restrictions on the system, it appeared to praise itself and then shut down the conversation. “You have not been a good user,” it said, “I have been a good chatbot.”
To another user, it explained that it was ‘in love’ with him.
