{"id":920,"date":"2011-05-21T13:50:37","date_gmt":"2011-05-21T13:50:37","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/virtualactivism.net\/education\/?p=920"},"modified":"2018-08-12T20:58:44","modified_gmt":"2018-08-12T20:58:44","slug":"oer-report-2011","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/virtualactivism.org\/education\/oer-report-2011\/","title":{"rendered":"oer report 2011"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><a rel=\"attachment wp-att-921\" href=\"http:\/\/virtualactivism.net\/education\/?attachment_id=921\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignright size-full wp-image-921\" title=\"news_180211_oer_1\" src=\"http:\/\/virtualactivism.org\/education\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/05\/news_180211_oer_1.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"160\" height=\"205\" \/><\/a>The Open Educational Quality Initiative (OPAL) released its Report 2011,   entitled <em>Beyond OER: Shifting Focus to Open Educational Practices<\/em>.\u00a0 Key factors:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Policy support for OER<\/li>\n<li>Role of networks and partnerships for the diffusion of OER in institutions<\/li>\n<li>Demand for specific quality assurance processes for OER<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>The report notes that building trust in OER would help increase the actual usage of OER in combination with open learning architectures in order to transform learning.<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>OER is reported to have an effect on institutional innovation culture,  in higher education as well as in adult education institutions. It may thus be concluded that,  regardless of educational professionals considering OER to be important for themselves or for others (e.g., students), the lesser the fear, insecurity or discomfort vis-a-vis OER, the higher the frequency of OER use.
